Monica Long
Research Associate
Monica Long is a research associate for PPA’s Education, Workforce, and Economic Development group. She possesses advanced quantitative skills, such as multivariate analysis, development of econometric equations, macroeconomic forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis.
Ms. Long is a recent addition to the PPA research staff. Currently she serves on the evaluation team for the evaluation of the Lifelong Learning Account (LiLA) Demonstration, which features longitudinal analysis of participant data. She also serves on the evaluation team for the statewide evaluation of Supplemental Education Services for the Michigan Department of Education.
Prior to joining PPA, Ms. Long was a graduate assistant in the Department of Economics at Eastern Michigan University where she was involved in the development of econometric models for key state and local government revenue sources. She is a past participant in the College Fed Challenge, where her team earned special recognition for their presentation of an analysis of the economy, a short-term forecast, and policy recommendations.
Ms. Long holds a bachelor of arts in economics (Honors College) and a master of arts in applied economics, both from Eastern Michigan University. She is also a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society.
